◆ The framework governs the assessment, issuance, maintenance, supervision and enforcement of internet gaming licenses. It also defines the Authority’s expectations concerning operator conduct, corporate integrity, player protection, financial crime prevention, technical security and regulatory cooperation.
The framework is based on Eritrea’s Business Licensing System Control and Business Licensing Office Establishment Proclamation No. 72/1995, as amended by Business Licensing Amendment Proclamation No. 128/2002, together with the conditions attached to each internet gaming license and any applicable regulatory standards, directions and notices.
The due diligence process applied to license applicants, beneficial owners, directors and other key persons. The assessment includes corporate verification, ownership review, source of funds enquiries, sanctions screening and fitness and propriety checks.
