Eritrea Gaming administers and supervises internet gaming licenses issued through the Eritrean Gaming commission appointed by the Government of the State of Eritrea.
The Authority maintains a licensing structure intended to support legitimate international gaming businesses while promoting regulatory transparency, operational integrity and effective supervision.
Its responsibilities include assessing applications, conducting due diligence, issuing licenses, maintaining the public license register and monitoring compliance with applicable laws, license conditions and regulatory standards.

Jurisdiction & Legal Basis

Internet gaming activities licensed through Eritrea Gaming are regulated within the legal and administrative framework of the State of Eritrea.

The Eritrean Gaming commission is responsible for determining eligibility, issuing license approvals, imposing license conditions and supervising authorised gaming activities.

An Eritrea Gaming license is issued subject to the applicable laws of Eritrea, the conditions attached to the license and any standards, policies, directions or regulatory notices issued by the Authority.

Regulatory Scope

The Authority’s regulatory scope covers internet gaming activities conducted under licenses issued through the Eritrea Gaming framework.
Licenses may be issued in the following principal categories:

B2C Operator License

For approved businesses that provide online gaming or wagering services directly to players.

B2B Gaming Supplier License

For approved businesses that supply gaming platforms, software, games, technology or other material gaming services to licensed operators.

The Authority may create additional license categories, endorsements or permissions where necessary to reflect the nature and risk profile of a particular gaming activity or service.

No activity should be treated as authorised unless it falls within the scope of the license and has been approved by the Authority.

Institutional Structure

The Eritrea Gaming framework operates under the oversight of the Eritrean Gaming commission appointed by the Government of the State of Eritrea.

The institutional framework separates regulatory decision making from routine license administration. Applications and compliance submissions may be processed through authorised administrative channels, but all licensing decisions remain subject to the authority and approval of the Eritrean Gaming commission. The Authority may appoint authorised administrators, professional advisers, technical assessors, testing laboratories or other qualified service providers to support its regulatory functions.

Such appointments do not transfer the Authority’s ultimate responsibility for licensing, supervision or enforcement.
