Interactive License Seal Policy

A License may display the official Eritrea Gaming interactive license seal on an approved website while its license remains active and in good standing.

The seal provides a visible and independently verifiable link between the licensed website and the official public register.

Purpose of the Seal

The interactive license seal allows players and third parties to:

  • Confirm that the website is associated with a licensed entity
  • Access the official license record
  • Confirm the current license status
  • Review approved domains
  • Identify potential misuse of the Authority’s branding

The seal does not guarantee the performance, solvency or commercial success of the operator. It confirms only the regulatory information displayed in the public register.

Technical Requirements

The seal must:

  • Be supplied or approved by the Authority
  • Link directly to the License’s official public register record
  • Use the original code and verification destination
  • Remain clearly visible and accessible
  • Function on desktop and mobile devices
  • Use a secure HTTPS connection
  • Display only on approved domains
  • Remain free from overlays or alterations that interfere with verification

The seal should ordinarily appear in the website footer and, where directed, within account, complaint or licensing information pages.

Permitted Use

The seal may be used only:

  • By the legal entity to which the license was issued
  • On domains listed in the public register
  • For activities covered by the license
  • While the license is active
  • In the format authorised by the Authority

Use by a parent company, subsidiary, white label brand or related entity is not permitted unless that use has been expressly approved and is reflected in the public register.

Prohibited Use

A License or third party must not:

  • Alter the seal’s design, wording or colours
  • Remove or change the verification link
  • Display a static copy instead of the interactive version
  • Use the seal on an unapproved domain
  • Use the seal for an unlicensed product or service
  • Display the seal after suspension, expiry, surrender or revocation
  • Suggest that the seal constitutes approval in another jurisdiction
  • Sublicense or distribute the seal
  • Use the seal in a misleading advertisement
  • Place the seal on a website operated by another legal entity without approval
  • Create a similar mark likely to be confused with the official seal

Suspension, Expiry or Revocation

The seal must be removed or disabled immediately when:

  • The license expires without renewal
  • The license is suspended
  • The license is revoked
  • The license is surrendered
  • The domain is removed from the license
  • The Authority directs that the seal be removed
  • The operating business is transferred without approval

The Authority may technically disable the verification link or display a status warning within the public register.

Monitoring

The Authority may monitor the use of its seal through:

  • Automated domain checks
  • Public reports
  • Website reviews
  • Search engine monitoring
  • Verification link testing
  • License compliance reviews

Licenses must correct any technical or display issue within the timeframe specified by the Authority.

Misuse by an Unlicensed Entity

Unauthorised use of the seal, name, logo, certificate or license number may result in:

  • Publication of a public warning
  • Notice to hosting or domain providers
  • Notice to payment or technology providers
  • Legal action where available
  • Enforcement action against any License involved in facilitating the misuse

The license seal must always be interactive. A screenshot, copied logo or static image is not valid evidence of licensing.
